NAPA, California – Background: The Napa Police Department received a request for a public comment from a community member regarding the Women’s March that occurred in Napa on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Below is our response:
Thank you for following up on the Napa Women’s March that was held in downtown Napa on Saturday, January 21st. We estimated 3,000 individuals participated in the event. The members of the Napa Police Department were appreciative of the respectful approach participants presented to their fellow marchers, the local community and law enforcement. We were not advised of any problems or crimes associated with the event. As Chief Potter has said in the past, it is our pleasure to ensure the protection of the Constitutional Rights of our community and guests.
Should groups be involved in planning future events we would be interested in working with their leadership on pre-event planning. Please have them contact us at 707-257-9223.
